How We Grade Cards

We grade conservatively and pay generously for slightly-worn cards; our LP offer is 90% of NM for almost all nonfoil cards. Most competitors pay 65%-80%. While there are many forms of damage and imperfection that can impact a card's condition, the most common are edge and corner wear. This photo demonstrates the spectrum from Near Mint through Heavily Played.

Condition downgrades on cards over $40 include photos for your review. To ensure your satisfaction despite the subjectivity of grading, we offer Free Returns for cards over $1.

Condition Adjustments.

Our 90% LP adjustment covers almost every card but does not apply to exceptionally rare Appraised Cards (e.g. an Alpha Black Lotus.)

Foil adjustments are steeper because downgraded foils sell much slower and for less, especially newer chase cards. Our rates reflect this market reality.

No visible wear. Corners sharp, surface clean, edges pristine. Not all pack-fresh cards qualify for NM condition.

DMG Damaged — Cards that are worse than Heavily Played but are still sleeve playable. Cards that have been altered with ink or paint are conditioned as Damaged. The sellability of damaged cards will be determined at our buyer's discretion.

Cards with severe odor, impacted by mold or otherwise compromised or unfit for sale will be declined.

Disagree With a Grade?

We're confident in our grading, but you don't have to have blind faith in us. If you don't agree with the condition we've assigned to a card, simply mark it for return. No arguments, no hoops, no fees, no worries.

Every card over $1 can be returned for free — even if the only reason is that you disagree with the grade.
